Wave Energy Converters (WECs) have undergone significant developments, but they have still not yet reached full commercialisation. If we are to step closer to this goal, we need to obtain more accurate information on which parts of WECs fail and why.

In order to balance renewable energy development with environmental protection, more targeted research is needed on how Wave Energy Converters impact their surrounding environments.
