IMPACT partners attend leading ocean energy conference OEE
On 25 and 26 October, representatives from IMPACT partners VGA and SINTEF attended the OEE conference.
On 25 and 26 October, representatives from IMPACT partners VGA and SINTEF attended the OEE conference.
On 31 January 2024, IMPACT will host a joint webinar with fellow wave energy project VALID, entitled Harnessing Ocean Power: Progressing with WEC Technology through Rig Testing.
On 20 and 21 September, VGA represented IMPACT at the World Magnetic Conference, hosted within the International Coil Winding Exhibition and Conference (Coiltech).
From 3-7 September 2023, IMPACT was represented at the 15th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC) by João Cruz from Yavin Four Consultants and Giacomo Alessandri from VGA.
WECs need to work in areas where waves are very strong, implying that commissioning and maintaining the device could be challenging and costly. Therefore, increasing the reliability and safety of WEC systems would present a significant operational cost-cutting opportunity.
IMPACT will be presented by José Miguel Rodrigues (SINTEF Ocean) at ISOPE-2023 in Ottawa on 20 June 2023.
Wave energy is still at an early stage of development. By using our experience with wind and solar, we can anticipate the opportunities and requirements for integrating wave energy into the electrical grid.
On 15 and 16 March 2023, the IMPACT project successfully held its fifth project meeting in Cork, Ireland.
To ensure the successful development and deployment of wave energy converters, it is essential to keep track of several key metrics that provide valuable insights into their performance and efficiency.
From 18–20 October, the IMPACT project attended the global ocean energy conference ICOE-OEE, where they hosted a side event together with fellow European wave energy project, VALID.
